Rob Whiteman PHTLS Instructor Email:Rob@teamsasha.com Hi, I’m Rob, one of the more recently qualified PHTLS instructors on this site compared to some of the other people on here, becoming an instructor in May 2008 after completing my provider course in Staffordshire. Since this I have taught on courses at Nottingham University Hospitals and for St John Ambulance. My pre-hospital work comes in the guise of being a volunteer with St John Ambulance Derbyshire, covering duties all over the county and further afield. My experience has been built up over the years by covering large scale public gatherings and through providing emergency ambulance cover to NHS trusts. This has allowed me to use the skills and methods taught in the PHTLS program to provide higher levels of care to my patients, and to pass on my knowledge to prospective providers. Professionally I work as a radiographer at the two Derby Hospitals, which supports a large A&E department. This role allows me to see the injuries that people receive from traumatic events and assist in the diagnosis and how they progress on from the injuries to the point of discharge. I find this really interesting as I am able to pass on to students how well managed patients in the pre-hospital environment gives them a better prognosis. If you have any questions drop me an email and I’ll try and help in any way I can. Rob
